Description

These photographs are from the National Archives. They depict the recapture of Guam by the American armed forces and the early post war reoccupation, 1944-1945. Most of this collection was acquired as part of a grant received by MARC to document historic sites on Guam for the period of American Naval administration. There are about 850 photographs in this collection of 8" x 10" black and white prints. MARC has made few copy negatives. The photos can be located under the MARC Photo Collection number GC65 and are filed under the first three numbers of the National Archives designation.
