El Paso to Receive Guam Paintings – Governor Guerrero will fly to El Paso for ceremonies at Biggs AFB in which a B-52 will be designated as the “Island of Guam.” The 95th Bomb Wing circulated between Biggs and Andersen AFBs, and just recently, the “City of El Paso” was received on the island. Governor Guerrero will bring with him a painting from Adriano Pangelinan, an award winning painting from the College of Guam division from the Andersen Art Show
Guerrero to Meet Other Governors – Governor Guerrero, along with Rudolph Sablan, Ed Engledow, and Jesus C. Okiyama, will head to the United States, including Hawaii, for a series of conferences and meetings. Governor Guerrero will attend the 15 State Governor’s Conference in San Francisco, along with the Pacific Governor’s Conference in Honolulu; Governor Rex Lee from American Samoa and high Commissioner Wilfred Goding of the Trust Territory will also attend the Pacific Governor’s Conference. While in San Francisco, Sablan will meet with Department of Labor officials to discuss the importation of alien workers to the island, while Engledow will attend the Western States Military-Civilian Traffic Safety Conference
Santos Appointed Sinajana Commissioner – Governor Guerrero appointed Frank R. Santos as commissioner of Sinajana. Santos, an inspector for the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, will serve during the unexpired term of the late Luis Baza, which extends to January 1965. Santos is a member of the Governor’s Committee on Children and Youth and a director in the Civic Improvement Club of Sinajana
Man Power Expert Arrives Here – Odessa Dubinsky, from the California Department of Employment, arrived on Guam on Thursday to start the comprehensive survey of the island’s man-power supply. The survey is said to possibly aid in development of training under the Manpower Development and Training Act and the Area Redevelopment Act
