Organized by Mrs. Ruth Keely, Bank of Hawaii staff and faculty celebrated May 1st as May Day, in which the decorated itself and her members in wondrously flowery attire and decor. Originally 2000 vanda orchids were ordered from Hawaii, but failed to arrive in time, so Bank of Hawaii staff and faculty found alternatives from wild flowers and personal gardens. The intended shipment that did arrive were given to the patients in the Naval Hospital and Guam Memorial Hospital
