Description

This week’s issue of Guam Times Weekly, volume 1, number 15, May 23rd, 1964, features a myriad of interesting topics. Amongst most of the staff of the GTW organization, many opinions have been given regarding the growing unpopular opinion of Governor Manuel F.L. Guerrero and his administration’s actions in attempts in rebuilding and strengthening Guam’s economy. The cover story, for this edition, however, is a piece by Managing Editor Marjorie E. Smith: Smith explains the Northern Mariana Islands within the Mariana Islands District in the Trust Territory. Additionally, the staff of the Guam Times Weekly covers current events regarding the Government of Guam as well as affairs in the Trust Territory. Also in this issue are social events included within many of the island’s communities, civilian and military alike, such the United States Navy, Air Force, Marine, and Coast Guard communities, like plays at the College of Guam, the Navy’s upcoming Relief Carnival, the incoming Little League games, and similar communal, social gatherings.
