Chief Personnelman William J. Logsdon, Sr., a native of Fontana, California attached to the U.S. Naval Communication Station Guam’s Administration Department, received a letter of Commendation for his outstanding performance in his professional duties since December 1, 1962 and specifically the performance in his collateral duty as Assistant Manager, Chief Petty Officer’s Club. Chief Logsdon prevented an attempted armed robbery on July 22 when he returned the fire of two bandits as they confronted him when he left the club with a large amount of money.
