Information Network for Sustainable Pacific Islands Research and Education (INSPIRE)

Description

The Information Network for Sustainable Pacific Islands Research and Education (INSPIRE) is a digital repository and access portal designed to aggregate, preserve, and freely disseminate outreach publications related to sustainable tropical agriculture and development in the Pacific Islands region. Its primary purpose is to overcome geographic isolation by making crucial extension literature—such as practical guides, technical bulletins, and research summaries—easily and permanently available to educators, researchers, extension agents, and farming communities. The foundational collection within INSPIRE is the "Portable Extension Office for Program Literature Exchange" (PEOPLE) collection. Development of the INSPIRE platform has been supported by grants from the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (WSARE) program and the Agricultural Development in the American Pacific (ADAP) project.
