This is a ‘Before’ picture taken on the day of the great sword grass adventure. Imagine what they looked like ‘after’!

On a quieter day than the one described in the story, hikers fish for shrimp along river below final drop of Tarzan Falls. Sometimes the shrimp are cooked and eaten but these particular ones become scientific specimens (opposite page)

Fresh-water shrimp (see photo below) found bright-colored ribbon irresistible, clinging to it when it was dipped into the cool pools they inhabit at top of Tarzan Falls
