Description
Jesse San Nicolas, Frances Sablan, and Timothy Quitugua visit the home of Mr. Juan San Nicolas and his wife, Mrs. Josefina San Nicolas. There, the couple educate their visitors about the earlier forms of lighting used on Guam before the use of candles and other lighting instruments, which was the use of coconut oil lamps. Specifically, the couple demonstrate how to make a candid hima (coconut oil lamp in a hima shell) and candid basu (coconut oil light in a glass container).
