A series of articles from the Governor's Office: Proclamation No. 64-2, Clean-Up Month - Governor Guerrero declared the month of March in 1964 as Clean-up month, due to the devastation of Typhoon Karen and Olive; Clean-up Campaign, Guam's islandwide cleanup campaign will be held in March, in a special organizational meeting at 10 am, on Frday, at the Conference Room of the Governor's Office; Proclamation No. 64-3, where acting Governor of Guam, Denver Dickerson, in March 1964, declared that March would also be Red Cross Month, due to the success of the Red Cross Relief services from the devastation from Typhoons Karen and Olive; Island Aerial Survey, crews from the Department of Land Management will begin work on Thursday on four triangular markers around base stations, for future island wide photo mapping surveys - the markers will be of cast iron buckets which has brass markers and are embedded in the ground or pavement; Two GMH Nurses, Mrs. Luz Hechanova and Mrs. Emilia Kaleb, two nurses from Guam Memorial Hospital, return to Guam on Friday, February 17th, after attending six months of advanced nursing training courses from East-West, Interchange Center in Honolulu, Leaki Hospital, and Hawaii State Hospital; Courtesy Call, Lt. Exequiel Campo and Lt. Mariano Morales, representatives from two ships from the Republic of the Philippines, visited Acting Governor Dickerson; Plans on Six Projects, included in the rehabilitation project plans are the construction of Barrigada Elementary School, Dededo Elementary School, Merizo Elementary School, the Rehabilitation Center, the School for Exceptional Children, and the Chalan Pago Elementary School; Social Security Representative , Ken Suehiro, from the Honolulu office of the Social Security Administration, will be on Guam to maintain the headquarters in the office of the Tax Audit branch for the Department of Finance; Urban Renewal Programs, this article covers the renewal projects for rebuilding in Yona and Sinajana; Three Traffic Violations, a summary of traffic accidents in 1963 on Guam from the following reasons - speeding, failure to yield right away and following to closely - Lt. A. C. Ada from the Guam Police reported 847 accidents in 1963, an increase from a total of 799 from the previous year - Lt. Ada reported the most hazardous driving areas in 1963 were on Route 1 from Leary Junction to Andersen Air Force Base, Route 1 from Piti to Agat, Route 4 from Marine Drive to Chalan Pago and Route 8 from Marine Drive to Barrigada; 1963 Business Census, requires that business establishments submit information such as names of the business, location, total sales, and operating receipts in 1963, class of customers, and allied information, due to 1963 Censuses of Business - Agents for this matter are Messrs. Florencio T. Ramirez, Jesus C. Okiyama, and Ignacio M. Reyes; Former Marine Officer Locates Old Friends, former Marine officer J. W. Steadman, came back to Guam on a business trip, as opposed to his previous time serving in the Army, finds a former employee, Maria Jesus - Steadman said that he plans to return to set up an insurance agency; Bills Signed into Law, Acting Governor Dickerson signed into law Bill 265 and amended Bills 185 and 201 which was passed by the Seventh Guam Legislature - Bill 265 amends the Civil Code to allow the mortgage of stock in trade of merchants - Bill 185 amends the Code of Guam relating to the disclosure of names of juvenile offenders - Bill 201 makes supplemental appropriations for the operation of the government for the remainder of the fiscal year
