Judging Distances

Title

Judging Distances

Subject

Math, measurements, conversion, metric system, imperial system, frustration

Description

A poem which parodies the tone and voice of Henry Reed's "Judging Distances." Where Reed's poem is about two lovers meeting under the trees and the proper way in which one would identify and report the distance (if he should report it), Cruz's chooses to switch the focus of their parody towards distance. In Cruz's poem, the poet expresses their frustration of converting measurements into the metric system.
