Description
#26… FOUR NATIVE CHILDREN stand beside a wrecked tank on the rock-and-wreck strewn beach they use for a play rea on the Pacific island of Ebeye. They are waiting to be repatriated to the island of Rongelap, which was evacuated in March 1954, when an impossible-to-predict shift of wind carried radioactivity from the Bikini H-bomb blast into the Northern Marshalls. The island has since been declared safe for habitation.
