Description
A MARSHALLESE WOMAN packs up for the return to her home island of Rongelap as an elderly woman peers out of house soon to be vacated. The women were evacuated from their home in March, 1954, when Rongelap was showered with radioactive fallout from the Bikini H-bomb blast. Atomic scientists have since declared the island safe for habitation.
