Description

Article done by Marjorie E. Smith – she covers the on-going issues at the Guam Memorial Hospital. ‘By Laws’ briefly mentions on how Medical Director Ali is both and against the by-laws regarding the organizational structure of the medical staff, that it becomes electoral than appointive. ‘GMH Technicians’ Cerila Matias Rapidas, laboratory supervisor, will take an exam for certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, with a Dr. Faustino Garcia as the proctor. Additionally, Josephine Torres, a laboratory tech, will undergo a one-year training at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Michigan. ‘Investigations’ a Rules Committee has been established (Ricardo J. Bordallo, Jesus C. Okiyama, Edward S. Terlaje, George M. Bamba and F.T. Ramirez) to investigate the operations of GMH. ‘Good Samaritan’ is a stance that GMH will be leased to a non-profit organization in hopes to clear the hospital from any current and future interference. ‘Dr. Ali’ the current Medical Director of GMH, is currently stating his stance on how matters are at GMH, though Editor Smith does kindly remind GTW’s readers that there are always more than two sides to an issue
